IMS: End-to-End Device Ordering Platform
Led the launch of IMS (Inventory/Item Management System), a platform that took device ordering for retailers from a manual, offline process to a self-serve digital flow. Started with micro-ATM ordering, then expanded coverage to thermal printers, biometric devices, passbook printers, soundboxes, and note-counting machines. Also built employer registration into the flow and drove the security sign-off and compliance addendum work needed to get it fully live. The platform now underpins ~₹7 Cr in monthly GMV and is the backbone for how retailers procure the hardware they need to operate.
From a PM's Desk
- Who it's for
- Retailers who previously ordered hardware (micro-ATMs, printers, biometric devices) through a manual, offline process with a real cycle-time cost.
- Approach
- Land-and-expand: prove the self-serve flow on one device category before generalizing across six. Sequencing mattered more than scope — compliance and security sign-off were the actual bottleneck, not the UI.
- Metric I'd chase
- North star: monthly GMV through the platform (~₹7 Cr/month today). Category-by-category attach rate is the leading indicator I'd watch before GMV moves.
- Status
- Shipped, in production.
